Deshea Townsend #26

High School – Played Quarterback in high school, the renowned South Panola High, in which he lead his team to an undefeated season in route to winning the state championship. Played high school and college football with former Cleveland Brown Dwayne Rudd.
College Career: 4-year starter at Alabama
Pro Career: Entering his 12th year with the Steelers after being drafted in the fourth round in 1998. Deshea and Hines Ward are the only two players remaining on the team from that draft class. A member of Super Bowl XL and XLIII teams. One of the few cornerbacks to have over 20 interceptions and 15 sacks, including a sack in Super Bowl XL. One of the smartest players on the field, Dan Rooney refers to Deshea as “the quarterback of the defense”.
Personal: Married with three children, Deshea resides in Oxford MS. Very active in charities including his own “Pay It Forward Foundation, the
Boys & Girls Club of Batesville MS and the Light of Life Mission and Glimmer of Hope in Pittsburgh. Hosts a radio show on 1250 ESPN Pittsburgh.
